CA1310 Sound Level Meter

CA1310 Sound Level Meter

Brand New and available to order now

The CA1310 Class 2 integrating sound level meter compliant with the IEC 61672-1 standard is the ideal instrument for measuring the sound environment for a large number of applications :

  • Testing of noise exposure at work,
  • Testing of HVAC system noise
  • Building acoustics, neighbourhood noise disputes, etc.
  • Noise nuisance assessments, etc.

Equipped with a wide backlit screen with digital and bargraph display and time/date-stamping, the CA1310 is easy to read in all circumstances. Its ergonomic casing makes it simple to use: excellent grip, access to all the functions on the front panel, tripod insert, etc. The microphone can be used remotely with a 5m extension cable, available as a n option. Powered by normal or rechargeable batteries, it offers an excellent battery life of 60 hours! It can also be connected to the mains via its micro-USB port.

Measurements
The CA1310 offers 2 types of measurements: ‘instantaneous’ (SPL) or ‘equivalent continuous sound level’ (Leq). For Leq measurements, the integration time can be set to periods from 10 seconds to 24 hours. It can record up to 64,000 measurement points, with a sampling rate which can be set directly in the instrument's SETUP menu.
The PC software, SL-Software, allows you to monitor the measurements in real time, view the data and export them for analysis or measurement report generation.
The CA 1310 is delivered in a case with a foam wind-shield for outdoor measurements.

CA1900 Thermal Camera

Brand New and available to order now

Designed to detect abnormally high temperatures such as fevers, the camera can be used to measure human body temperature with an accuracy of ± 0.5 °C. With a temperature range from +30 °C to +45 °C, it is an essential tool for identifying anyone with an excessively high temperature in order to combat epidemics.

Thanks to its tripod insert supplied as standard beneath the camera, it is very easy to install long-term in a fixed position, such as a factory entrance, for example. In addition, by maintaining a distance of 1.5 metres between the operator and the person tested, there is no risk of contamination.

Skin and body temperature measurement is instantaneous, allowing people to pass through quickly and smoothly, without wasting time. An audible and visual alarm immediately informs the operator that a person is potentially sick via a Bluetooth earpiece supplied with the camera.

The operator can choose to detect high temperatures either on the basis of a fixed threshold which he/she defiens beforehand, or on the basis of an average (calculated automatically by the camera) of the previous 6 healthy people tested.

The camera’s design ensures a comfortable grip. An XXL screen with automatic brightness adjustment and its field of view (38°x28°) equipped with a focus-free function so that the image remains sharp whatever the distance are just a two examples of features which make the operator’s job easier.

Additional specifications

  • Detector: 160 x 120, UFPA microbolometer, 8 ~14 μm
  • NETD: 60 mK @ 30 °C (0.06 °C @ 30 °C)
  • Measurement fluctuation < 0.02 °C (in adaptive alarm)
  • Accuracy: ± 0.5 °C
  • Temperature range: +30 °C to +45 °C
  • 2 alarm modes:
    • Adaptive alarm based on a temperature difference in relation to the average of the temperatures measured (up to 6 people)
    • Alarm on overshoot of a temperature threshold set by the operator
  • Measurement tools: 1 manual cursor + 1 cursor for automatic hot spot detection + Isotherm
  • Data storage: on removable 2 GB micro-SD card (approximately 4,000 images) with possibility of extension up to 32 GB
  • Weight / dimensions: 700 g with rechargeable batteries/ H225xW125xL83 mm

NEW PEL104 and PEL106 Power and Energy Loggers

Brand New & Available to order now

Chauvin Arnoux UK are pleased to announce the launch of two new additions to their market leading range of Power and Energy Loggers (PELs).

PELs are necessary for monitoring power and energy usage in a facility or installation and can often identify hidden issues that affect both operational and environmental quality, can pinpoint the reason for higher than desired energy costs, and can reveal the causes of more frequent equipment repair and replacement.

Whether for troubleshooting a known problem, or proactively seeking opportunities to optimise power distribution systems, energy service industry professionals are making good use of power and energy logging equipment and are discovering both the significance and benefits of short-term diagnostic monitoring for plant maintenance and expansion.

The PEL104 and PEL106 offer improved performance and functionality, compared to our most popular PEL103, while retaining the same simplicity of use and competitive pricing.

New features include :-

  • Upgraded Microprocessor providing 5x faster data capture (aggregation down to 200ms)
  • Higher rated self-powering adaptor suitable for use on 600V AC (1000V PEL106) and DC systems
  • USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G/GPRS connectivity with IRD server for remote logging and access
  • Bluetooth link for 4 dual-channel loggers enabling 8 additional analogue channels to be connected
  • Separate harmonic, imbalance, and non-active energy measurements for simple cost analysis of electrical network issues
  • Alarms and reports feature - automatically emails warnings if thresholds are crossed, along with daily reporting
  • Unique motor mechanical power, speed, torque, and efficiency values calculated from measured electrical parameters (patent applied)
  • Improved current sensor locking mechanism

CA1510- Controlling the cost of COVID ventilation

Did you know there is a link between the CO 2   levels in a room, and the likelihood of COVID-19 being spread amongst the occupants in that room?

Ultimately, if proven, this could lead to a managed way of getting students and staff back into shared spaces with a much-reduced risk of spreading COVID-19 amongst them.

Increased concentrations of CO  in an enclosed space indicate insufficient supplies of fresh air due to either inadequate air changes and / or overpopulation of the room.

Numerous scientific studies have proven that aerosols (small droplets) are a major route of transmission of viruses such as COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2. Active virus particles can float in the air longer and further than originally thought and pose a potential danger.

CO 2  is a good indicator of the functionality of the ventilation systems and it had been shown that with a high air exchange, both low CO 2  concentrations and low aerosol concentrations can be achieved.

The lower the aerosol concentration, the lower the dose that a person in the room inhales and the lower the risk of infection.

This is particularly applicable in classrooms and lecture halls at universities, colleges and schools, where students and staff sit in relatively close proximity to each other for an extended period, as well as nurseries and day care centers.

The German government is investing € 500m in purchasing CO  monitors and improving ventilation systems in public buildings to help stop the spread of coronavirus. Something we will be suggesting our own government considers.

A BBC news article that highlights the importance the German Government are attaching to air quality, and the role C02 detectors have in achieving that goal, can be found on the link below.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-54599593

To assist in the fight against COVID-19 we have released the CA1510 portable indoor air quality meter which has proved particularly popular in mainland Europe and is ideal for classrooms / communal areas.

It's simple to use, measures and records CO , relative humidity and temperature, and determines the air quality in rooms on the basis of the CO 2  concentration, or on all three measured physical quantities.

Another advantage of the CA1510 is that it monitors and logs all results with a time and date stamp for future reference.

We have produced a detailed PDF leaflet highlighting the importance of Air Quality with regards to the transmission of COVID-19 and the features and benefits of the CA1510 which you can download below, as well as a detailed product brochure.
